Training Needs Assessment
Assessment is a systematic process for understanding the current state of an organization, program, or sector, and identifying challenges, opportunities, and pathways for development.
ISM MENA provides tailored assessments that support growth and continuous improvement, including development needs assessment, training needs assessment, and quality assessment.
A training needs assessment identifies the knowledge and skills required to build capacity, determines whether training is the right answer, and produces a clear training plan aligned with organizational objectives.

The TNA process
Define scope and objectives
Clarify the purpose of the TNA, the population covered, and how training outcomes will link to organizational goals.
Secondary research (data review)
Analyze existing training records, performance reviews, policies, and lessons learned. This baseline prevents repeated mistakes and shows what has already been tried.
Primary research (data collection)
Surveys and questionnaires for quantitative data on skill gaps; interviews and discussions for qualitative insight from staff and managers; focus groups and retreats to link training needs with strategy, new technology, or organizational change.
Analysis of findings
Integrate quantitative and qualitative evidence to identify true training gaps, and separate issues training can solve from those that need process or policy changes.
Delivery feasibility and options
Assess whether training can be delivered locally or needs external providers; review trainers, institutions, and experts; choose virtual, on-site, blended, or self-paced delivery; and check costs against budget and expected return.
Prioritized training plan
A structured plan that sets priorities, delivery methods, timelines, and costs, aligned with organizational objectives and workforce readiness.
